【李忠謙／綜合外電報導】果粉久等的新一代iPad終於發表，不過它不叫iPad 5，而是iPad Air！但科技網站預測的指紋辨識落空，倒是邊框確實大幅縮小，重量也減為1磅（450克）。
iPad Air配備64位元的A7處理器，蘋果宣稱其CPU效能是iPad一代的8倍，圖形處理能力則為72倍。iPad Air還搭載了5百萬畫素的相機、可拍攝1080p的高畫質影片、FaceTime的畫質更好、還有雙麥克風、續航力為10小時。外殼顏色除了傳統的黑白兩色，還多了先前曝光的太空灰，但沒有傳說中的香檳金。
在價格方面，iPad Air從499美元（約1.46萬台幣）起跳，cellular版本629美元（約1.84萬台幣）起跳。11月1日第一波上市的名單中沒有台灣，但有中國與、香港與日本。
