蘋果（Apple Inc.）週二發表會上「大放送」，包括Mac作業系統OS X Mavericks、套裝軟體iWork與iLife均免費下載，但在發表會上不斷拿微軟當「箭靶」，讓競爭對手微軟（Microsoft）決定回擊，直指iWork等套裝軟體「微不足道」，毫無吸引力。
蘋果於22日的發表會上，推出全新iPad Air與iPad Mini，並宣布作業系統與多項套裝軟體均開放Mac用戶免費下載。
