| 因不明疾病長不大 美20歲「幼兒」辭世

【李寧怡／綜合外電報導】美國女孩葛琳伯（Brooke Greenberg）因罹患罕見的不明疾病，4歲起就停止生長，外型始終有如幼兒，估計智力也維持在9個月至1歲大。她迄今未被檢查出任何基因與染色體異常，醫生稱她的病是「X症候群」。她上周因不明原因逝世，年僅20歲。
葛琳伯早產1個月，出生時體重僅1.8公斤，到4歲仍緩慢生長，但4、5歲後就不再長大。她6歲以前，常因胃潰瘍、腦中風等各式原因送醫，4歲時曾連續昏睡14天，家人已準備為她辦喪事，結果她好端端醒來。醫界曾研究她的基因，希望找出人類老化的秘密。
